HD MDC Installation Instructions
1.
Before installing the MDC Application on the mobile data computer, the technician will
need to retrieve (or set) two (2) IP addresses from the Eyewitness

HD. To accomplish
this, the technician will need to do the following:
a. Enter the mobile computer’s Admin menu, and go to Network settings, and then
to the Internal Network menu.
b. Write down the IP addresses for the DVR IP and the MDC IP. The technician will
use these later in the process. By default, the DVR is shipped with the DVR IP
set to 192.168.2.20 and the MDC IP set to 192.168.2.37.
2.
Install the Eyewitness
®
HD MDC application on the mobile computer.
a. This software is provided on a CD. If the mobile computer is not equipped with
an optical drive, the technician should transfer the MDC_build folder to a USB
drive.
b. Once the media has been recognized by the mobile computer, the technician will
navigate to the MDC_build folder. The technician will load the software from the
media by double clicking on the MDC.exe file. The installation will begin.
c. The technician should follow the prompts and accept the defaults to complete the
installation.
Note: Many agency computers will require administration privileges to load the

allow this software to be loaded.
