Battery Replacement

The ExpressionMate uses a battery to back up the Setups in RAM
when you turn the unit off. When itÕs time to replace it, the
ExpressionMate will show you this screen on power-up:

PLEASE REPLACE
YOUR BATTERY!! |

If this happens, you should replace the battery as soon as
possible.

Before You Begin

You will need the following things:

•

A CR2032 battery (a 3-volt Lithium ßat disc) which is
available from Radio Shack and better drug stores

•

A #2 Phillips screwdriver

•

A table or other ßat work area that measures about 30" wide
by 10" deep

Note:

Opening the ExpressionMate to replace the battery
will

not

void the warranty, as long as you donÕt

replace or modify any of the other components inside
of the ExpressionMate.

Replacing the battery may erase the Setups that youÕve created,
so back them up using a SysEx dump (see ÒSaving Setups (SysEx
Dumps)Ó on page 89).

Opening the Unit

Turn the power off and unplug the power cord, the Ribbon,
and all pedals and MIDI cables from ExpressionMate.

Warning:

Always unplug the ExpressionMate before you open
it. Not doing so can cause personal injury and can
damage the unit.

If the ExpressionMate is on the mounting bracket, remove it
by unscrewing the bracketÕs thumbscrew and lifting the
ExpressionMate off.

Place the ExpressionMate on a table or other ßat, stable
surface.
