Operating the hob with the sensor keys
The ceramic glass hob is operated with touch control sensor
keys. The sensor keys are operated as follows: lightly touch a
symbol on the surface of the ceramic glass plate. A buzzer will
indicate when the controls have been operated correctly. The
touch control sensor key will then be indicated as “key”.

This keys are used to switch the entire hob on and off (main
switch).
Plus-Minus key

These keys are used to set the cooking levels. The Minus key
reduces the setting and the Plus key
raises it.
The setting can be deleted by pressing both keys simultaneously.
If the cooking zone is just being switched on the plus-minus key
will react according to where it is touched.
The power levels will be activated direct with the pre-selector
stage:

STOP key

The STOP function can be used to briefly stop the cooking
process.
Lock key

The lock key can be used to lock all of the keys.
Automatic boost function key

Parboiling takes place at power level 9 with the automatic boost
function. After a certain time the power level will switch down
automatically to a lower simmering setting (1 to 8).
Timer key

For programming the automatic switch-off device (timer) and the
minute minder.
MENU key

The volume and the brightness of the displays can be set by
users.
Pan recognition (EKE 8852 only)
If a cooking zone is switched on and there is no pan on the
zone or if the pan is too small, there will be no transmission
of power. A blinking
in the cooking level display points
this out.
If a suitable pot or pan is placed on the cooking zone, the power
setting will switch on and the power setting display will light up.
The power supply will be cut off when the pan is removed and the
power setting display will indicate a blinking
.
Pan recognition limits
For some of the models the minimum diameter of the base of a
pot is indicated as an inner circle on the cooking zones.
Switching off the pan recognition function
The pan recognition device only recognises metal pots. To be
able to cook with non-metallic cooking ware, as well, the pan
recognition can be turned off for each cooking zone.
1. This is only possible if the required cooking zone must be
switched off.
2. Press the
Plus-Minus key
of the cooking zone once on the
minus section
and the plus section
at the same
time
.
The symbol
will light up. The pan recognition device will
now have been switched off for as long as the cooking zone
is in use, i.e. until it is switched off!
3. Then immediately (within 30 seconds) switch on the cooking
zone with the pre-selector setting.
4. The pan recognition device is automatically re-activated
when the cooking zone is switched off.
Permanently switching off the pan recognition
The pan recognition can be permanently deactivated for all the
cooking zones.
1. Press the
MENU key
once and hold for some time. F1
will appear.
2. Then immediately use the
Plus-Minus key
to make
a setting for TIMER F3.
3. Use the
Plus-Minus key
under the display „t0“ to
deactivate the pan recognition:
1 = Pan recognition permanently switched off
0 = Pan recognition permanently switched on (standard)
4. To exit and store the function press the
MENU key
