B.6.1 Running calibration test
Requirements:

The metering slides are closed.

PTO shaft and tractor engine are switched off and locked to prevent acciden-
tal starting.

Have a sufficiently large hopper ready for holding the fertiliser (holding capac-
ity at least
25 kg ). Determine the unladen weight of the collection vessel.

Have the calibration test chute ready. The calibration test chute is in the cen-
tre behind the spreading disc guard.

A sufficient quantity of fertiliser is placed in the hopper.

The speed of the PTO shaft is known with the help of the calibration chart.

Desired output volume, working width and mean speed are entered into the
electronic control system.

WARNING
Risk of injury due to chemicals
Discharged fertiliser may cause injuries to eyes and nasal mucous
membranes.
 Wear safety goggles during the calibration test.
 Direct all persons out of the danger zone of the solid ferti-
liser broadcaster before the calibration test.
NOTICE
Select the values for the calibration test for the maximum possible application
rate. The greater the application rate the greater the precision of the measure-
ment.
