PERIODIC SERVICE
OPENING AND CLOSING OF
COVERS
1. Precautions for opening and
closing the covers
WARNING
To avoid personal injury or death from contact with
moving parts:
• Never open the engine cover while the engine is
running.
• Do not touch the muffler or the exhaust pipes
while they are hot. Severe burns could result.
2. Opening and closing the engine
cover
1. Insert the starter key into the key hole and turn it
clockwise to unlock the engine cover.
2. Push the key hole.
3. Pull up the hood until it will be held.
4. To close the engine cover, release the lock of the
gas damper.
5. Lower the hood and hold it down tightly.
6. Turn the starter key counterclockwise to lock the
engine cover.

(2) Key hole
(3) Gas damper
(4) Lock (A) Open
(B) Close
3. Opening the side cover
1. Insert the starter key into the key hole and turn it
clockwise to unlock the side cover.
2. Pull up the side cover until it will be held.
