4. If the V-belt has been stretched too much, nicked,
or cracked, replace it.

IMPORTANT :
• If the engine is running with a loose fan belt,
the
belt
may
slip,
causing
engine
overheating
or
insufficient
battery
recharging.
Always keep the fan belt properly tightened.
• If the fan belt should break, the battery
charge lamp lights up.
Immediately stop the engine.
2. Checking the radiator hoses and
the clips
Check to see if the radiator hoses are in good condition
and the clips are properly fixed every 250 hours of
operation or 6 months, whichever comes first.
WARNING
To avoid personal injury or death:
• Do not check the radiator hoses until the engine
has cooled down.
1. If the clips are loose or water leaks, tighten the clips
securely.
2. Replace the hoses and the hose clamps every 2
years or earlier if checked and found that hoses are
swollen, hardened, or cracked.

3. Cleaning and checking the air
cleaner element
1. Open the engine cover.
2. Remove the engine cover and the outer-filter-
element.
3. Clean the outer-filter-element.
4. Case the interior without removing the inner
element.
