In due course, the ACC detects whether the vehicle is moving in right or left-hand traffic, and adjusts the
overtaking detection accordingly.
Tip
When using the ACC, it is recommended that you activate the automatic mode
Standard
(optional) of the
preload adjuster at the same time.
Due to the automatic adjustment of the spring preload, the front radar sensor remains in the optimal
detection angle.
If the
Standard
preload adjuster mode (optional) is not available, it is recommended that
the preload adjuster (
p. 94) be correctly adjusted to the current load.
The ACC is available in second to sixth gear.
If there is a malfunction in the adaptive cruise control, the regular cruise control function can still be used.

The ACC can only be used in ride modes
Sport

As the incline increases, the maximum acceleration and deceleration is reduced to the cruise speed in all ACC
modes.
In the ACC modes
Comfort
and
CC only
the speed is reduced on the open road as the incline increases. There is no
reduction in
Sport
ACC mode.
Even with ACC, the rider must shift gears themselves to keep the engine in the optimum speed range for the rid-
ing situation. The ACC is not deactivated by shifting if the shifting is completed in less than 2.5 seconds.
Tip
Use of the Quicks (optional) is recommended.
When the rev limiter for shifting up is reached, the ACC does not accelerate further, but remains active.
If the rev limiter is reached for shifting down, the ACC is deactivated.

Low beam

The low beam is integrated in the main headlight.
The low beam is activated when the ignition is switched on.
To save power in the 12-V battery, the low beam is deactivated
again after 5 seconds if the engine is not started.
If the ignition is accidentally switched off during the journey, the
low beam remains on.
