8 Servicing/Maintenance

8.1 Safety regulations

DANGER

Power supply not disconnected

Danger to life!

▷

Pull the mains plug or disconnect all electrical connections and secure against
unintentional start-up.

DANGER

Work on the pump set by unqualified personnel

Danger of death from electric shock!

▷

Have pump components modified and dismantled by authorised personnel
only.

WARNING

Fluids handled, consumables and supplies which are hot and/or pose a health
hazard

Risk of injury!

▷

Observe all relevant laws.

▷

When draining the fluid take appropriate measures to protect persons and the
environment.

▷

Decontaminate pumps which handle fluids posing a health hazard.

WARNING

Improper lifting/moving of heavy assemblies or components

Personal injury and damage to property!

▷

Use suitable transport devices, lifting equipment and lifting tackle to move
heavy assemblies or components.

8.2 Maintenance/inspection

The pump (set) is practically maintenance-free. Slight wear of the mechanical seal is
unavoidable. This will be aggravated by abrasive substances contained in the fluid
handled.

KSB recommends the following regular servicing schedule:

Every 2,000 operating hours

Check the lubricant in the lubricant chamber.

Check the mechanical seal.

The operating reliability will be improved if proper functioning is checked and
verified at regular intervals (EN 12056-4).
