Adjusting the relief spring(s)
WARNING
Risk of injury due to adjustment of relief spring(s)
In the working position the relief spring(s) are subject to high drawing tension. In case an
attempt is made to remove or adjust the relief spring(s) when the machine is in the working
position, people may be seriously injured or killed.
The relief spring(s) must only be dismounted or adjusted in the transport position.
The bottom fittings on the relief spring(s) are fully screwed in.

The relief springs (1) are used to adapt the ground pressure of the cutterbar to the local
conditions. In order to protect the sward the load on the cutterbar must be relieved so that it
does not jump when mowing, yet does not leave any brush marks on the ground.

To increase the ground pressure, extend the supporting chain (3).
To reduce the ground pressure, shorten the supporting chain (3).
Telescopic top link
The front cutterbar area can additionally be adjusted when the telescopic top link is unlocked.
To reduce the ground pressure in the front cutterbar area, attach the relief springs (1) higher
in the perforated bar (2).
If the relief springs are attached too high, the mower will tip towards the rear.
To increase the ground pressure in the front cutterbar area, attach the relief springs (1)
lower in the perforated bar (2).
If the relief springs are attached too low, the mower will have too much weight on the
ground in front.
