The twine pusher (1) swivels above the channel slot for the first time.
„ Turn the flywheel manually in working direction until the twine bar (1) swivels over the
channel slot for the second time.
„
As soon as the twine pusher (1) grabs the twine, apply the flywheel brake ( refer to page 89 )
in order to block the knotter needles in this position.
„
Check the dimension X between the tip of the twine pusher and the twine.
Æ If the dimension is X=5-10 mm , the setting is correct.

If the dimension is not X=5-10 mm , the twine pusher must be readjusted, refer to
page 204 .
„ Check the overreach on all twine pushers.
15.11 Tensioning/relieving upper needle

The upper needle (3) is tensioned or relieved by means of the spring (2).
ü The knotter gearbox is in idle position. refer to page 111 .

The flywheel brake is applied, refer to page 89 .
Tensioning the upper needle
„
In order to tension the spring (2), tighten the nut (1) until dimension X= 235 mm is measured
between the eyes of the spring.
Relieving the upper needle
„
In order to relieve the spring (2), unwind the nut (1) to the thread end of the eyelet bolt.
