By default, the name will be the first eight characters of
the song name, in uppercase.
If a USB QWERTY keyboard (commercially available) is
connected, you can use this to enter text instead of the on-
screen keyboard. For more information, see “Editing
names and entering text” on page 202 of the OG.
5. Use the radio buttons to specify the format.
Format 0 will save sixteen channels of MIDI data
together in a single track.
Format 1 will save each MIDI channel to a separate
track.
6. To save the data, press the OK button. To cancel, press
the Cancel button.
The song data (MIDI track data) you save here can be
played back on a device that supports Standard MIDI
Files. However if you intend to playback the data on the
NAUTILUS, we recommend that you use “Save SEQ” to
save the data, since this will allow a higher degree of
reproducibility.
Save Exclusive
This command first captures incoming MIDI System
Exclusive data (SysEx), and then saves the data as an .EXL
file.
Save Exclusive is valid only when the current directory is a
DOS directory. If you are browsing inside a .PCG, .SNG, or
.KSC file, for instance, the menu command will be grayed
out.
1. When you select “Save Exclusive,” the NAUTILUS
will wait for incoming MIDI SysEx data. The
following dialog box will appear.

2. Transmit the exclusive data that you wish to save to
the NAUTILUS.
While the data is being received, the display will indicate
“Status=RECEIVING MIDI DATA.” When reception
ends, the size of the received data and the size of the
remaining free area will be rewritten. The display will
change to “Status=AWAITING MIDI DATA,” and you
can continue transmitting exclusive data to the
NAUTILUS. During reception, the Cancel button and the
OK button cannot be pressed.
3. Use the text edit button to open the text edit dialog
box, and set the name as desired.

4. To save the data, press the OK button. To cancel
without saving, press the Cancel button.
Save Effect Preset
Effect preset data will be saved to disk as a .KFX file.
This command is valid only when the current directory is a
DOS directory. If you are browsing inside a .PCG, .SNG, or
.KSC file, for instance, the menu command will be grayed
out.
1. Select “Save Effect Preset” to open the dialog box.

2. Use the text edit button to open the text edit dialog
box, and set the name as desired.
The extension “.KFX” will be added automatically. For
example, the name “NewFile” will result in a file named
NewFile.KFX.

3. Specify the contents that will be saved. Choose one of
the following five radio buttons.
All:
All preset data (P01–P15 and U00–U15) for all
effects will be saved.
All Preset: Preset data P01–P15 for all effects will be
saved.
All User: Preset data U01–U15 for all effects will be
saved.
One Effect: Only the preset data of the selected effect
will be saved. If you check Preset, P01–P15 will be
saved; if you check User, U01–U15 will be saved.
4. Press the OK button to save the data, or press the
Cancel button to cancel without saving.
Export Samples as AIF/WAV
SAMPLING mode data can be exported to disk as AIFF or
WAVE format sample files.
This command is valid only when the current directory is a
DOS directory. If you are browsing inside a .PCG, .SNG, or
.KSC file, for instance, the menu command will be grayed
out.
Note: Normally, it is recommended that you use Save All or
Save Sampling Data to save sample data in Korg format
(.KSC, .KMP, .KSF). This preserves all of the parameters of
the Multisamples and Samples for use in Programs, Wave
Sequences, and Drum Kits.
Use Export Samples as AIF/WAV if you wish to use an
AIFF or WAVE format compatible application on your
computer to work with samples that were recorded or edited
on the NAUTILUS.
