Installation on the trawl door
Typical measurements from the doors are Spread, Pitch and Roll, and Height. Other
useful measurements are Depth and Temperature. The sensor can also be the “remote”
device for Geometry and Spread measurements.
Note
If you want your sensor to
measure the pitch and roll
of the trawl doors, you must
calibrate it.
When a PX MultiSensor Mk2
is to be mounted on a trawl
door or on the clump, you need
to place it in a dedicated sensor
pocket.
• If the sensor is placed in the
starboard trawl door adapter
(A):
– The front of the sensor must point towards the vessel (FWD).
– The side transducer element, points to the bottom to measure height.
– The down transducer element points to the port trawl door. It is used as the remote
device for the spread measurement.
• If the sensor is placed in the port trawl door adapter (B):
– To guarantee communication , the communication and front transducer elements
must point towards the vessel (FWD).
– The side transducer element points to the starboard trawl door to measure spread.
– The down transducer element points to the bottom to measure height.
