5.4 Configuration through setup file
When changes are done directly in the setup file, the file has to be transferred to an external
computer first. Then the file is edited and transferred back to the AIS 200. To make this
transfer it is necessary to use an ftp-software (ftp-file transfer protocol).
5.4.1 Network parameters
When connecting the AIS 200 to a network, the IP address, Gateway, Subnet mask and server
name must be set. When leaving Seatex the parameters are set for internal use at Seatex and
must be changed when used in another network. The LAN broadcast address is used to
configure a client subnetwork or a single client which should receive PI data on LAN.

The default port address for the PI LAN is 4711 or 4712. 4711 is for listening to UDP and
4712 is for sending commands over TCP.
5.5 Message types
The AIS system supports different messages on the VHF data link and on the PI and LAN
interface.
