2. System requirements
- Windows® XP/2000
- USB 1.1 Port (USB 2.0 recommended)
- CD-ROM drive for installation
3. Hardware installation
Step 1:
Connect the USB Phone to the USB port on PC or notebook with the cable that is attached to it.
For CMP-VOIP50, connect the base station to the PC or notebook and install the battery inside
the handset. Also see under item

Installing the battery (CMP-VOIP50)
Step 2:
Follow any instructions for software installation under Windows operating system.
4. Software installation
4.1 Skype software
If not yet installed on the PC, download the latest version of Skype software from the Internet
and install this application.
4.2 USB Phone driver
Insert the driver CD and install the USB Phone driver. If the software does not start
automatically, then browse to your CD drive icon and find the setup file. Double click on it and
follow the on-screen instructions. This phone driver is needed to make your USB Phone work
with Skype software.
4.3 Skype configuration
After the USB Phone driver has been installed, double click on its icon to start the program.
Skype will show a pop-up window asking if you want to allow this software to be used with
Skype. Click to always allow the phone software to be used with Skype.
5. Use of the keypad
The following paragraph describes the main functions of the USB phone keypad. Different
models
may have different buttons, please refer to the appropriate description for your model.
CMP-VOIP21/31:
Switch between tabs of Skype software

To scroll through contact list / calls in Skype window / adjust volume while talking
Make or answer a call
End or refuse a call

Delete wrong input (clear) while dialing. Other function: mute the microphone
RING
Press this key to cycle through the various ring tones
MUTE
Press to mute the microphone
CMP-VOIP40/50:
Pres to show the contact list

To scroll through contact list / calls in Skype window / adjust volume while talking
The contacts are sorted by name. Press e.g. 5 and you will see all contacts starting with
“J”
Make or answer a call
End or refuse a call

(1) Press to clear any numbers you have entered for a call
(2) Press to switch between the tabs of the Skype software
(3) During a call you can press “
C
” to enable mute, press “
C
” again to disable mute
6. Base station (for CMP-VOIP50 only):
Press to activate hands free function (Press and hold to register handset)
Speaker light:
(1) During a call via the handset, after pressing the hands free key, the speaker light will flash
(2) The speaker light will be on when hands free function is active, otherwise it is off
Charge light:
(1) When the handset’s battery is full, the light will be on
(2) When the handset’s battery is empty, the light will flash
(3) When the handset is taken away from the base, the light is off
Register Handset to the base
If the LCD shows

(1) Press and hold the “

” key on the handset (approx.3 seconds).
(2) Press and hold the hands free key (approx.3 seconds) until the LCD shows
. This
indicates the handset has been registered to the base.

technician if service is required. Disconnect the product from mains and other equipment if a
problem should occur.
