Making connections and installing the driver

Connecting to a computer

This machine can be connected to a computer using any of the following connection 
methods.

Connecting to a USB port

In the following procedure, the machine is connected directly to the computer by us-
ing a USB cable.

When the machine is connected to the USB port, installation of the TWAIN and print-
er drivers begins. For the procedure on installing the TWAIN and printer drivers 
when this machine is connected by USB, refer to “Installing the printer driver by us-
ing Plug and Play” on page 2-7.
