6.5 Simplex/Duplex Setting
The machine initially selects the simplex copy mode [1->1] to make single-sided copies from the single-sided
original.
Follow the procedure below to make double-sided copies from the original scanned from the ADF or from
the original glass (duplex copying), and also to make single-sided copies from the double-sided original.
6.5.1 Making Double-Sided Copies Using ADF
Follow the procedure below to make double-sided copies from the single-sided or double-sided original
scanned from the
ADF .

The top-bound double-sided copies (printed upside down on back pages) can be made from side-
bound single- or double-sided originals (having the same edge as page top).

The side-bound double-sided copies can be made from top-bound double-sided originals.

Specify [Direction] and [Bind Direction] of the Original Setting according to the original loaded in the
ADF .

The machine is set to automatically match the [Bind Direction] of the Output Setting to the [Bind Direc-
tion] specified in the Original Setting. To make top-bound copies from side-bound originals, or to make
side-bound copies from top-bound originals, specify [Bind Direction] in the Output Setting as desired.
