5.3.3 Loading Paper in Paper Feeder Unit PF-703 (Trays 3 to 8)

To use paper other than loaded in a tray, change the setting of that tray in [Tray Setting] from the Ma-
chine Screen, or temporarily change the setting in [Paper Presetting] from the Copy Screen.

If any feeding trouble occurs after loading paper by following the procedure below, perform the proce-
dure in page 5-13 to load paper.

Withdraw the tray to be supplied with paper.

The paper weight available for Tray 3, 5, 6, or 8 ranges from
11 lb Bond to 80 lb Bond. Tray 4 and Tray 7 can be loaded
with 11 lb Bond to 93 lb Bond paper.
NOTICE
Trays cannot be withdrawn when the machine is not powered.
Be sure to turn the
sub power switch ON.
NOTICE
Only one tray can be withdrawn at a time.
To load a different size of paper, proceed to step 2. To load the
same size as loaded before, proceed to step 3.

Fully widen the side guides and rear guide.

Turn the two guide fixing knobs of the side guides coun-
terclockwise to loosen them.

Fully widen the side guides and rear guide while pressing
the lock release lever of the side guides and rear guide.
NOTICE
When moving the side guides, be sure to hold both the lock
release lever of the front one and the handle of the rear one.
If moved only with the front side guide, the side guides may
not be fixed in position.

Fix the position of side guides.

Place about 100 sheets of paper with the print side up. While pushing the lock release lever of the
front side guide, align both side guides to the paper and position them according to the paper size
indicator provided on the guide holding plate.
