Transmission Mode function

Transmission Mode

allows you to control how often the ST90 system shall transmit acoustic

energy (ping) into the water. For normal use, choose

Maximum

. If you choose

Maximum

,

the ST90 system will transmit (ping) continuously and as often as possible. This gives you
the maximum refresh rate.

How to open

This function is opened from the

Operation

menu.

Description

Select the middle of the button to open a small menu with the available options.

Note

If you are recording raw data to a very slow external memory device, this may reduce
the ping rate. The ST90 will not permit a new “ping” until all the data from the previous
ping has been saved.

Details

Single Ping

This option allows the ST90 system to transmit single pings. The ST90 system
transmits (pings) only when you click the ping symbol on the

Transmission Mode

button.

Interval

The ST90 system transmits (pings) with a fixed time interval.

Ping Interval

permits

you to choose the time (in milliseconds) between each transmission (ping).
