RS-232 serial line connection using five wires
An RS-232 serial line connection using five (5) wires and NMEA telegrams is a common
way to connect the SN90 to external devices.

Unless otherwise specified, the serial line cable must be
provided by the installation shipyard.
Note that this cable does not support all the signals in the
standard RS-232 specification.

If you need to install a very long serial line cable, increase the cross section.
