Note

You must never turn on the MF90 system when the ship is in dry dock. The transducer may
be damaged if it transmits in open air. It is therefore very important that the MF90 system
remains turned off when the vessel is in dry dock, and that no one tries to use it.

Procedure

1

Make sure that necessary mains power (AC and/or DC) is available and correct.

2

Make sure that the transducer cannot be accidentally lowered.

3

Connect the transducer cables.

4

Finalize the cable connections.

5

Install the operating software.

6

Select which type of hull unit that has been installed.

7

Select how far down the transducer shall travel when you select

Middle

position.

Note

The Mk3 Operating Panel does not support a middle position for the transducer.

8

Start the entire MF90 system.

Making sure that the operating power is correct

The MF90 system operates on AC and/or DC power from the vessel’s mains supply. Before
you connect operating power to any system unit, you must make sure that the voltage is
correct.

Prerequisites

Before you can do this task, the following prerequisites must be met:

• The system units have all been installed according to the instructions provided.

• All system cables are connected.

• Correct operating power is available.

• All relevant personnel and tools are available.
