Configuring a Bluetooth connection
You can set up a wireless connection through Bluetooth.
Prerequisites
• This procedure is made for the Microsoft ® 64-bit Windows 10 operating system.
Attention
Wireless connectivity through Bluetooth is not available on Windows 7.
• Do not run the DATSS Software prior to configuring Bluetooth. If the Bluetooth
server is running, open the
Task Manager
, select the
Processes
tab and look for the
server in the
Background processes
list. Right-click on “BluetoothServer.exe” and
select
End task
to stop the server.
• If required, plug the provided Bluetooth dongle into a USB port on your DATSS
Processor Unit.
Note
You do not need the dongle if your computer is already Bluetooth
capable.
Context
Bluetooth creates a direct wireless connection between the tablet and computer (DATSS
Processor Unit) over short distances. When operating on Bluetooth, you do not have to
be in a visual line of site of the DATSS Processor Unit. However, the operating range
depends on a number of factors.
Note
We do not recommend using the DATSS Operator Panel outside of the wheelhouse.
Procedure
1 If you are using the Bluetooth dongle, install the Bluetooth driver that comes with it.
2 Pair the tablet with the computer.
