Units
•
Range
Choose the unit of measurement for all the readouts related to range and distances
in the FM90i software user interface. This may for example be the cursor location
or the range rings.
•
Temperature
Choose the unit of measurement for all the temperature readings.
System Variables
•
Sound Velocity
Enter the sound velocity to ensure accurate depth determination. In order to obtain
accurate depth readings and fish echoes, it is very important that the sound speed
through the water is set correctly. A sound speed sensor is required to accurately
measure in-water speed near the Sonar Head.
•
UTC Time
Check the box to use Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When disabled, the
FM90i software uses local time.
File Saving
•
Prompt User for Filename
Check this box to open a “Save As” dialog box when you record data or save
an image.
•
Name
Type any name into the text box. The chosen name will be used as prefix in all the
data file names. The time/date stamp will be used as the filename if the name
field is left blank.
•
Use C:\KML\FM90i_V0100
Check this box to use the default location when saving files. Disable this setting if
you want to choose alternative save locations. The
Browse
buttons will become
available.
Display
•
Show TVG Config
Click to open the
TVG Setup
dialog box.
TVG
(Time Variable Gain) compensates
for the loss of acoustic energy due to geometric spread and absorption.
