METHOD OF TOWING MACHINE
3
WARNING
Injury or death could result if a disabled machine is towed
incorrectly or if there is a mistake in the selection of the
wire rope or drawbar.
Always confirm that the wire rope or drawbar used for tow-
ing has ample strength for the weight of the machine being
towed.
Never use a wire rope which has cut strands (A), reduced
diameter (B), or kinks (C). There is danger that the rope
may break during the towing operation.
Always wear leather gloves when handling wire rope.
Never tow a machine on a slope.
Never go between the towing machine and the towed
machine during the towing operation.
If the machine moves suddenly, a load is applied suddenly
to the towing wire rope or drawbar, and the towing wire or
drawbar may break. Move the machine gradually to a con-
stant speed.
Be extremely careful if there is a failure in the engine or
brake system: the brakes will not work.
If the steering and the brakes on the disabled machine
cannot be operated, do not let anyone ride on the disabled
machine.
