4.6.2 Engine
If errors or causes of errors occur that are not listed here, have
the repair performed by your Komatsu distributor.
ENGINE
Fault Cause Remedy
Engine oil pressure caution lamp:
The engine oil pressure caution
lamp lights up and the acoustic
warning signal sounds while the
engine is running
Oil level in the engine is too low Add engine oil
Engine oil filter (filter cartridge)
clogged Replace engine oil filter (filter car-
tridge)
Lines or hoses of the engine
lubrication damaged
Check lines and hoses (visual inspec-
tion: discharge of oil)
Replace defective lines and hoses *)
Line or hose connections of the

Repair leaky line and hose connec-

Oil pressure switch is not func-
tioning
Check the function of the oil pressure

Pressure is escaping from the pres-
sure valve of the radiator cap Coolant level in the radiator too
low Add coolant (observe the correct mix-
ing ratio)
Coolant level too low Coolant system leaky
Check lines and hoses (visual inspec-

The background of the temperature
display lights up in red and the

Engine overheated
Let the engine run in idle speed with-
out load until the engine has cooled
down and the coolant temperature
gauge is in the green range
Drive belts of the water pump are
not tensioned properly

Inside of coolant system calcified

Radiator (cooling surfaces, fins)
