2.8.9 STOP THE ENGINE BEFORE

CARRYING OUT ANY MAINTENANCE
OPERATION OR INSPECTION

q

Stop the machine only on firm and level ground and stop the
engine before carrying out any maintenance operation or
inspection.

q

If it is necessary to have the engine running during
maintenance, engage the safety LOCKS of the equipment
control levers, apply the parking brake and carry out any
maintenance operation with the help of another person; an
operator must remain on board and the words to be used during
the operation must be agreed upon.

q

The maintenance personnel must be very careful not to touch
any moving part of the engine.
