CHECKING AND CLEANING THE CAB AIR

To carry out this maintenance operation it is necessary to tilt the cab floor. Carefully follow the
instructions given in paragraph "TILTING THE CAB FLOOR (3-35)" or have this operation carried out
by your Komatsu distributor.

Wear safety goggles during the cleaning operations.
Air intake through the cab ventilation is protected by a filter located on the right side of the cab.
The filter retains all the air impurities and is cleaned every time air circulation is reduced.
The filter can be accessed from outside the cab after overturning the platform (see "TILTING THE CAB FLOOR (3-
35)").
Carry out the following operations to clean the element:
1. Remove the screws (1), remove the outer guard (2) and
extract the filtering element (3).
2. Hit the element slightly on the palm of your hand to
eliminate the dust and blow compressed air on its surfaces,
keeping the jet at a distance of about 15 cm and making
sure that the pressure does not exceed 4–5 bars.
3. Carefully clean the filter casing, taking care to prevent any
f o r e i g n b o d y f r o m e n t e r i n g t h e s u c t i o n d u c t , a n d
reassemble the unit.
NOTICE
If the filtering element is excessively clogged or damaged,
change it with a new one.
