Stop the engine.
3.
Turn the cap of oil filler port (F) to release the internal pres-
sure before removing the cap.
4.
Be careful not to get the oil on you, and remove the drain
plug (1). Loosen the drain plug (2) to drain the oil.
5.
After draining the oil, tighten the drain plugs (1) and (2).
6.
Add the specified amount of oil through the oil filler port
(F).
7.
Check that the oil level in the steering and hoist oil tank is
at the specified level.
METHOD FOR LUBRICATING DRIVE SHAFT
When greasing, use the lithium grease (G2-LI), and perform the greasing every 4000 hours or every 2 years.
1.
Stop the engine.
2.
By using a grease pump, pump in grease through the
grease fitting shown by arrow.
• Grease the spider part until grease comes out from
the cap seal.
• Grease the sliding part until grease comes out from
the vent.
3.
Check visually that the greasing has been performed prop-
erly.
4.
After greasing, wipe off any old grease that is pushed out.
METHOD FOR CHECKING WATER PUMP
Check around the water pump for water leakage.
If any part is leaking, ask your Komatsu distributor for inspection/repair.
METHOD FOR CHECKING STARTING MOTOR
The brush may be worn and the grease in the bearings may have dried out.
Ask your Komatsu distributor for inspection and repair.
If the engine is started frequently, have this inspection performed every 1000 hours.
METHOD FOR CHECKING FOR LOOSENESS OF ENGINE HIGH-PRESSURE PIP-
ING CLAMP, HARDENING OF RUBBER
NOTICE
If the engine operation is continued while any bolt is loosened or any rubber is hardened or removed,
the contact portions of the high-pressure piping may be worn and may be broken by vibration. Always
check that the proper high-pressure piping clamps are correctly installed.
