When installing the filter cartridge, tighten it by hand until the packing surface contacts the sealing surface
of the filter head, then tighten the filter cartridge 1/2 to 3/4 turns.
NOTICE
• Do not fill the new filter cartridge with fuel.
• Remove the cap (A) at center and install the filter
cartridge.
If the filter cartridge is tightened too much, the packing
may be damaged and this will cause the leakage of fuel. If
it is not tightened enough, fuel will leak through the gap at
packing. Be sure to observe the tightening angle.
8.
Open the fuel supply valve (1) of the fuel tank.
9.
Fill the fuel tank with fuel.
10. Bleed air.
1) Move the switch for the fuel feed pump (3) to ON posi-
tion.
Lamp (4) flashes and the fuel feed pump operates.
After the specified time (approximately 7 minutes),
lamp (4) goes out automatically and the fuel feed
pump stops.
When lamp (4) goes out, air bleeding is completed.
2) Start the engine.
If the engine does not start, all the air may not be bled.
In this case, repeat the operation of step 9.
11. After completing the air bleeding, start the engine and check the filter seal surface for fuel leakage.
If there is any leakage of fuel, check the tightening condition of the filter cartridge.
If there is still leakage of fuel, follow the steps 1 and 4 to remove the filter cartridge, then check the packing
surface for damage or foreign material. If any problem is found, replace the cartridge with a new one, then
repeat the steps 5 to 10.
12. Close the engine side cover.
