Set the switch (1) to (B) position, and keep pressing the button (2) on the L.H. lever to enable the quick
coupler.
REMARK
The quick coupler is enabled by operating the switch (1)
and switch (2) at the same time, then the caution lamp (3)
lights up on the monitor to indicate that the quick coupler is
enabled.
Depending on the design of the quick coupler, actuate one
of the hydraulic functions (bucket, boom, arm, or swing) of
the machine in order to increase the pressure in the hy-
draulic system. Enable the swing lock switch when the
swing function is to be used. For details, see “SWING
LOCK SWITCH (3-90)”.
The attachment or bucket is ready to be removed from the quick coupler.
REMARK
The alarm buzzer sounds intermittently if the oil pressure in the
quick coupler system is dropped during the work.
The action level “L03” is displayed, and the quick coupler cau-
tion lamp is displayed on the monitor.
Stop the machine immediately and ask your Komatsu distribu-
tor for the inspection and maintenance.
METHOD FOR INSTALLING ATTACHMENT
1.
Determine the position of the quick coupler on the new bucket or attachment.
2.
Operate the switch (1).
Position (A)
The quick coupler is disabled. (NB-LOCK bucket/attach-
ment)
Position (B)
The quick coupler is ready to be enabled. (NB-RELEASE
bucket/attachment)
REMARK
A safety lock mechanism is provided to the switch to pre-
vent any accidental operation. Slide the lock towards you
then rock the switch.
The lamp of the switch lights up, and the alarm buzzer sounds.
