When an operation is performed at near the point where
the angle of the design data (A) changes
The machine may dig too much with bucket edge or buck-
et bottom face.
The accuracy of construction may improve by operating
the work equipment lever slowly.
• The bucket edge may change unexpectedly or shock may
occur if the boom is lowered during arm OUT operation at
near the design data. (for example, in reverse scraping op-
eration)
PRECAUTIONS FOR REPLACING PARTS AND FAILURES
NOTICE
• Calibration is needed if the boom, arm, or bucket is replaced. In such a case, consult your Komatsu
distributor.
• Do not remove, install, disassemble, and modify a sensor.
This may cause an malfunction of semi-auto mode.
Ask your Komatsu distributor for this work to be performed.
• If sensor is hit or damaged, check if the semi-auto mode operates normally.
If any problem is found, ask your Komatsu distributor for repair.
WORKING MODE
You can switch between semi-auto mode and manual mode by using Auto/Manual switch on the control box.
Semi-auto mode
Semi-auto mode performs the following controls automatically.
Auto grade assist (when the arm is operated)
• The boom automatically rises so that the bucket does not dig deeper than the design data(A) when arm is
operated.
The boom rises as needed even if the operator performs boom LOWER operation.
This controls not only the bucket edge but also the outline of the bucket not to dig deeper than the design
data. (minimum distance control)
• This control operates for the slope design data (A) of angle
(G) is 70 ° and below. For the slope design data of angle
(G) is 70 ° and above, it becomes the auto stop control in
arm IN operation (H), and it automatically stops the work
equipment not to dig deeper than the design data (A).
