SEMI-AUTO MODE
PRECAUTIONS FOR OPERATION

WARNING
• Semi-auto mode is the function to limit the range of digging automatically. For this reason, the work
equipment may not move as operator intended even if the operator moves the work equipment to
avoid the danger. Operate the machine with great care.
Do not use the semi-auto function to avoid the danger since it may worsen the situation.
• The work equipment automatically stops so that it does not dig deeper than the design data during
the semi-auto mode. For this reason, you may not able to lower the bucket to the ground, that is,
action to avoid the danger, in order to support the machine inclining. Observe the precautions for
operation, and do not rush when operating the machine.
• Semi-auto mode controls the movement of the work equipment (boom, arm, and bucket), and does
not control the swing and travel attachment.
However, the semi-auto mode is still in operation when you swing the upper structure while operat-
ing the work equipment. Operate the machine with great care.
The semi-auto mode becomes waiting state and does not operate when the machine travels.
• If the bucket goes out of the design data, warning message of “Out of design area...” is displayed
on the control box, and machine becomes waiting state for semi-auto mode.
The work equipment moves as operator intended when the machine is waiting state for semi-auto
mode. However, the semi-auto mode is executed if the machine returns to the area of the design da-
ta. Operate the machine with great care.
• If the control box freezes, stop the operation, lower the work equipment to the ground, set the lock
lever to LOCK position, and then restart the control box.
• If the work equipment makes abnormal behavior, release the work equipment control lever, and set
the lock lever to LOCK position. Work equipment stops.
NOTICE
• Perform the warm-up operation sufficiently for starting
the work when the ambient temperature is low. The ac-
curacy of construction may becomes poor if the warm-
up operation is insufficient.
• The accuracy of construction may become poor when
the soil is hard or bucket load is large.
• The accuracy of construction may be lowered depend-
ing on the communication state of GNSS.
• Check that the working mode is any of P, E, ATT/P, and
ATT/E mode when using the semi-auto mode.
• The guidance is displayed on the control box by calcu-
lating the distance between bucket edge and the de-
sign data, therefore, even if the bucket bottom face ex-
ceeds the design data, guidance is not displayed.
Semi-auto mode controls the operation so that not on-
ly the bucket edge but also the outline of bucket does
not exceed the design data.
