6. Install the Handles
Complete the finished wall.
Remove and discard the plaster guards.
Thread the sleeves onto the valve and diverter stems.
Apply a bead of plumbers putty or other sealant around the back
edge of the escutcheons according to the manufacturer’s
instructions.
Install the escutcheons over the threaded sleeves.
For the escutcheon used with the valve with stops, attach
bushings over the sleeves.
If acrylic handles are being installed, attach spline adapters to the
valve and diverter stems.
Align the handles.
Secure with the screws.
Align and insert the plug buttons.
7. Complete the Installation
Make sure all the connections are tight.
Open the drain.
Turn on the main water supply and check for leaks.
Open the hot and cold valves and check for leaks.
