Changing operating diaphragm and safety diaphragm
1. Heat the retainer plate (20) with a hot-air gun (T=approx. 400°C) for
approx. 5 minutes to approx. 100°C.
WARNING
Risk of burns from hot parts
Burns may occur on skin contact with the hot re-
tainer plate and countersunk screw or other
heated pump parts.

Wear protective gloves.
à
Only loosen the retainer plate with face span-
ner wrench.
à
Only place the retainer plate and countersunk
screw on a heat-resistant surface.
2. Remove the retainer plate:
Loosen the retainer plate (20) from the conrod plate (16) with the
wrench for retainer plate by turning counterclockwise and remove the
retainer plate.
3. Remove the operating diaphragm (4).
4. Loosen the three hexagon socket head cap screws (5); remove the in-
termediate ring (6).
5. Loosen the hexagon socket head cap screw (12); remove the serrated
washer (11) and the conrod plate (16).
Caution: Take care not to let the shim ring(s) fall into the pump
housing.
When removing the conrod plate, remove and set the shim ring(s)
aside for safe keeping.
When remounting, use the exact same number of shim ring(s).
6. Remove the O-ring (15) from the housing (7).
7. Remove O-rings (13) and (9) from conrod plates (16) and (14).
8. Remove the safety diaphragm (8).
9. Check all parts for contamination and clean the parts if necessary.
There may be glue residue on the external thread of the retainer
plate as well as on the internal thread of the conrod plate. Remove
this.
10. Insert the new O-ring (9) in the conrod plate (14).
11. Place the safety diaphragm (8) together with conrod plate (16) on con-
rod plate (14); make certain that the bulge on the inner diameter of the
safety diaphragm (8) lies in the groove of the conrod plate (14).
12. Mount the conrod plate (16) with the serrated washer (11) and the
hexagon socket head cap screws (12) (tightening torque: 45 Nm).
13. Insert the new O-ring (15) in the housing (7).
14. Place the intermediate ring (6) on the housing (7) according to the felt-
tip pen marking and hand tighten the screws (5) crosswise; make cer-
tain that the bulge on the inner diameter of the safety diaphragm (8)
lies in the groove of the housing.
15. Mount the hexagon socket head cap screws (5) (tightening torque: 9
Nm).
16. Insert the new O-ring (18) in the conrod plate (16).
17. Insert the new O-ring (17) in the intermediate ring (6).
