7.6 Adjusting the grinding angle
The grinding angle is adjusted using the star knob
(7-13/1) on the right side of the machine.
On the machine housing, there is a scale (7-13/2)
on which the grinding angle is displayed.
Since the grinding angle changes with increasing
wear of the grinding wheels, it must be re-aligned
every day or after every dressing process.
To adjust the grinding angle, turn the star knob
(7-14/2) to rotate the grinding wheels away from
each other until the scale arrow points to “0”.
Then tighten the star knob (7-14/1) to lock the
scale arrow in place.
Rotate the grinding wheels towards or away from
each other until they are visibly touching each
other (Figure 7-15).
Then release the lock on the scale arrow (7-14/1)
and rotate the grinding wheels towards each
other until the desired grinding angle is displayed
on the scale.
