Replacing the EEPROM
Caution!
Microelectronic components can become damaged by
electrostatic discharge (ESD) when touched.
Take precautions against electrostatic discharge!

Figure
1. Make a digital photo
of the cabling on the
motherboard to help
reconnect the cables
later on.
2. Save or read the
EEPROM data using
the service software;
Alternative: Insert the
EEPROM from the
old motherboard
onto the new
motherboard or
transfer data to the
new EEPROM.
3. Remove all cable
plugs from the
motherboard.

5. Remove the moun-
ting screws used to
fasten the mother-
board to the rear side
of the device (A) and
remove the mother-
board.
6. Carefully lift up the
EEPROM (B) using an
EEPROM tool.
