8. Maintenance and care
Proper maintenance of your devices will ensure successful analyses and
repro ducible results.
8.1 Maintenance contract
The following maintenance work on the device may only be performed
by the manufacturer or a company authorized by the manufacturer and is

Clean all smooth surfaces of the device with a wet cloth and a mild
commer cially available cleaning solution or isopropanol.
Note:
Observe the storage recommendations for the wetted parts in
8.3 Flushing and cleaning the CM flow cell
Increased system pressure and reduced sensitivity can occur due to con-
tamination of the CM flow cell. Therefore, flush the CM flow cell
with water or 20% ethanol in water before each switch-off.
Occurring contamination can often be removed by flushing the CM flow
cell several times.
When all salt has been flushed out of the CM flow cell completely, it can it
be flushed again with isopropanol if necessary.
Note:
When using a pH monitor, observe its maximum flow rate and sui-
table media when flushing.
The following solvents are recommended for flushing:
Water
20% ethanol in water
Isopropanol and aqueous isopropanol mixtures
