Troubleshooting

Possible problems and solutions

Problem

Solution

Device cannot be swit-

ched on.

Inspect the power cable to ensure that it 

is plugged into the power supply.

When purging, the 

pump switches off.

Check if the venting screw on the pres-

sure sen sor is turned up.

Pump does not transport 

solvent.

 

ƒ

Purge the pump head to remove the air 

bub bles.

 

ƒ

Clean the check valves.

 

ƒ

Exchange the check valves.

 

ƒ

If the pump head seals are defective, 

solvent enters the piston backflushing; 

inform the Technical Support of the 

manufacturer.

 

ƒ

Exchange the pump head.

Pressure and flow rate 

variations

 

ƒ

Purge the pump head to remove the air 

bub bles.

 

ƒ

Let the pump run for 1 h.

 

ƒ

Always tighten the inlet screw fittings 

and outlet screw fittings on the pump 

head with a torque wrench and 15 Nm.

 

ƒ

Clean the check valves.

 

ƒ

Exchange the check valves.

 

ƒ

Exchange the pump head

 

ƒ

Inform the Technical Support of the 

manufac turer.

Pump head leaks.

 

ƒ

Inspect the inlet and outlet screw fit-

tings of the pump head.

 

ƒ

If the seals are defective, eluent enters 

the piston backflushing; inform the 

Technical Sup port of the manufacturer.

 

ƒ

Exchange the pump head.

Flow rate is not cor rect.

Check the following options:

Check the data for the solvent 

compressibility

Cleaning the check valves

Exchange the check valves
