MAINTENANCE
50 – English
General
•
Let your Klippo dealer regularly check the machine
and make essential adjustments and repairs.
•
Always use genuine accessories.
Daily maintenance
General inspection
•
Check that nuts and screws are tight.
•
Check that the machine’s safety equipment is
undamaged.
External cleaning
•
Check that the cooling intake is free from leaves,
grass and dirt. Clean the cooling fins. Never flush
water directly on the engine.
•
Lubricate all moving parts with engine oil.
Adjustment of cable tensioning
If the drive does not work as it should, the drive cable
might need adjusting.
•
Loosen the lock nut.
•
Tension the cable by turning the tensioning screw.
•
Tighten the lock nut.
Air filter
•
Remove the air filter cover.
•
PS 045 H
Clean the filter by knocking the filter
carefully against a hard surface and blowing with
compressed air from inside. Never brush the dirt
away. Replace the air filter if it is very dirty.
•
ES 03 B
Remove the air filter and check that it is
undamaged. Replace with a new air filter if you believe
it to be defective. Wash the filter with a liquid cleaning
agent and water. Rinse the filter well in clean water.
Squeeze out and allow the filter to dry. Put the filter in
a plastic bag and pour the filter oil over it. Knead the
plastic bag to distribute the oil. Squeeze the excess oil
out of the filter inside the plastic bag and pour off the
excess before fitting the filter to the machine.
•
Refit the air filter and air filter cover.
Oil level
•
Put the machine in a horizontal position.
•
Unscrew the oil cap, clean the dipstick located on the
cap and insert the cap again without screwing it down.
Check the oil level on the dipstick.
•
If the oil level is low, fill using engine oil up to the upper
level on the dipstick.
Changing the oil
Engine oil requires changing after the initial first five
hours of use, and then every 50 hours of normal use and
25 hours of heavy use thereafter. Change the engine oil
while the engine is hot.
•
Empty the fuel tank by running the machine until the
tank is empty.
•
Remove the drain plug.
•
Tip the machine over and empty the oil into a suitable
vessel. NB! The spark plugs should be facing
upwards when you tip the machine over.
•
Ask where you can dispose of surplus engine oil at
your local petrol station.
•
Put the plug back and fill with new oil.
Spark plug
•
If the machine is low on power, difficult to start or runs
poorly at idle speed: always check the spark plug first
before taking other steps.
•
If the spark plug is dirty, clean it and check that the
electrode gap is 0.7-0.8 mm. Change every 100th
hour or once every season.
!
WARNING! The user must only carry out
the maintenance and service work
described in this Operator’s Manual.
More extensive work must be carried out
by an authorized service workshop.
Prevent unintentional starting by
removing the ignition cable from the
spark plug.
The life span of the machine can be
reduced and the risk of accidents can
increase if machine maintenance is not
carried out correctly and if service and/or
repairs are not carried out professionally.
If you need further information please
contact your nearest service workshop.
NOTICE! Always use the recommended spark plug
type! Use of the wrong spark plug can damage the
piston/cylinder.
