U3606A Programmer’s Reference

*STB?

Syntax

*STB?

The

*STB?

(STatus Byte) query returns the condition register for the

Status Byte register group. This command is similar to a Serial Poll but it
is processed like any other instrument command.

Remarks

•

A condition register continuously monitors the state of the instrument.
The bits in the condition register are updated in real time and the bits
are not latched or buffered.

•

A Factory Reset (

*RST

command) or power- on cycle clears all bits in

the condition register.

for the status system diagram.
