0 Fast (high speed/small capacitive load) – provides the fastest programming speed and transient
response time. Best suited for resistive DUTs with low capacitance.
1 Medium (medium speed/medium capacitive load) – provides intermediate programming speed and
transient response time. Best suited for DUTs with higher capacitance with some trade-off in
programming speed and transient response.
2 Slow (slow speed/large capacitive load) – is best suited for DUTs with high capacitance/low ESR
with the trade-off of slower programming speed and transient response.
The following table summarizes the effect that the compensation settings have on the CV
Programming Speed Characteristics for all models.

To set the voltage compensation bandwidth:
Current compensation - only applies to models N69143A, N69145A, and N69146A
Current compensation for models N6914xA lets you optimize output response time with inductive
loads. This compensation is suited to handle a wide, range of total lead and DUT inductance with a
relatively fast programming response (see
graph). To reduce the impact of
load lead inductance, paralleling additional sets of load leads to lower the net inductance can help,
especially if load lead lengths are long.
Comp 0 Best suited for longer load leads (higher inductance) with relatively fast programming
response.
Comp 1 Optimizes programming speed for DUTs with limited lead inductance. This setting may require
paralleling additional sets of leads to achieve the desired overall lead length.
