Adjusting the Offset
You can fine-adjust the offset by turning the OFFSET adjustment using a Phillips screwdriver. Adjust
the offset so that the output voltage is minimum with the input BNC connector shorted.
Adjusting the Gain
You can fine-adjust the gain by turning the GAIN adjustment using a Phillips screwdriver . Adjust the
gain so that the output voltage is 155 Vac (in the 155 V range) when 10 VDC is applied to the input
BNC connector.
EXT-DC Mode
In EXT-DC mode, the input waveform is simply amplified and output.
With the ATT switch set OFF, the AC source outputs a voltage 100 or 200 times the input
voltage ranging from -2.19 V to +2.19 V. With the ATT switch set ON, the AC source out-
puts voltage ranging from -219 V to +219 V (when 155 V range is selected) or -438 V to
+438 V (when 310 V range is selected) with respect to a signal input ranging from -10 V to
+10 V.
Step 1. Turn the AC source off
Step 2. Set the ATT switch On or Off.
Off: The input voltage range is -1.90 V to +1.90 V (peak value) The allowable input DC voltage range is
-10 V to +10 V.
On: The input voltage range is -10 V to +10 V.
Step 3. Connect an external signal (generator) to the INPUT terminal.
Step 4. Turn the AC source on.
Step 5. Select EXT_DC mode.
Step 6. Select a voltage range (155 V or 310 V). Autoranging is not available in analog mode. If Auto
was selected before the instrument entered EXT-AC mode, the presently selected range is retained.
Step 7. If an AC voltage is being applied, set the frequency (40 Hz to 500 Hz). To display the measured
value accurately, set the frequency so that it matches the frequency of the external input signal. If the
set frequency is out of synchronization, the measured value will be unstable.
