7. Set-up the KD-MC2500; The Device Manager
The KD-MC2500 is configured using the KD-MC2500 Device Manager. This
sub-program, included with the Compass Software Suite, allows the KD-MC2500
to be set up. This includes assigning a static IP Address, updating the internal
firmware, setting the RS-232 protocol parameters for the Main RS-232 output, and configuring
the I/O ports. Make sure that the KD-MC2500 and the PC are either connected via a USB cable
or that both are connected to the same network, and launch the Device Manager. Update the
firmware if needed, and then walk through the set-up steps. It is important to assign the 8 multi-
function I/O ports. This will be as Port Mode, Video or Audio Sensor, Bi-level Sensor or Trigger.
