Open/close of the lever is linked with the motor
When the lever is pushed, the polished sample will be
ejected to the polished sample receptacle.

Sample scatter-proof function
To avoid scattering of the sample, the polishing disk will
not be rotated if the cover is fully opened.

Transparent bran receptacle
The timing for discarding the removed bran can be seen
at a glance.
●
Motor overload prevention
If excessive force is applied to the motor and there is a
risk of the motor coil being damaged, the power turns off
automatically.

Properly attach the bran receptacle to the main unit.
Fully insert the bran receptacle to the outlet of the
removed bran. Note that if the case is not properly
attached, the bran will be scattered during polishing.

Take a spoonful of sample with the supplied spoon.
* A spoonful of rice measured with the supplied spoon is approxi-
mately 10 g.

Set the sample on the polishing disk of the
Pearlest and close the cover. Then, lock the latch.
* If bran or dust is left, the cover may not be closed. Before start
polishing, clean the unit and fully close the cover.

Turn the power ON to start polishing.
The polishing time differs depending on the samples or moisture
content. Set the polishing time referring to the following.
Samples
A guide for polishing time
Short rice
30 to 40 sec.
Long rice
40 to 60 sec.
Barley
180 to 240 sec.
* Many broken particles may be generated depending on the sample.
* For barley, optional parts for barley polishing are required. Before
polishing, refer to the back page and assemble the parts correctly.

Push the lever while the cover is closed.
* If the sample is left in the polishing unit, the clatter may be heard.
Push the lever until the sound is stopped.

The polished sample is ejected to the polished
sample receptacle.

The motor stop when the power is turned off.

Open the cover, and take out the polished sample
receptacle.
* The polished sample receptacle can be used as a strainer. If bran
or dust is left on the tray, clean the tray before use.

<Cleaning>
After a few times of polishing, removed bran or dust may
accumulate around the rubber disc or polishing disk.
Clean the polishing unit using the pallet or paint brush.
<Storage>
When storing the instrument, remove the polishing disk,
rubber ring, and rubber disc.
Clean the inside of the bran receptacle. Store the
instrument in a place where the direct sunlight is avoided
under dry conditions.

Compact Grain Polisher Pearlest

Operating Manual
Thank you for purchasing our grain polisher.
The Compact Grain Polisher Pearlest can polish a
small amount of rice extracted for the purpose of
testing in a short time. Since the rubber plate is used,
capability of bran removal is excellent, and the grains
are well finished. The polished grains can be ejected
only by pushing the motor-linked lever. The Pearlest
can also be used for inspecting condition and mixing
degree of spotted rice influenced by pentatomid,
burnt, cracked, colored, nonglutinous, or glutinous
rice. Before using this instrument, thoroughly read
this operating manual, and use it properly.

Make sure that the cover is closed, and the power
is turned off. When the AC adapter is connected to
the outlet, the status lamp will light up.
(1) Push the bottom part
of the bran receptacle
toward the main unit.
(2) Pull the entire case
from the top.
<How to remove>
* Do not put the fingers into the outlet of the removed bran.
The drive unit can catch fingers and severely injure them.

Status lamp
<On> The device is ready to be used.
<Off> For safety, the sensor is activated and the device is
stopped.
Close the cover while the AC adapter is connected to the
outlet. When the POWER switch is turned off, the status
lamp will be lit to indicate the device is ready to be used.
<Blink> Due to over-current, the device is stopped protecting the
motor.
If the lamp is blinking while the AC adapter is connected to
the outlet, disconnect the plug once, and reconnect. If
blinking or off state continues, contact Kett.
* Do not use other than the specified AC adapter.
Otherwise, it may cause malfunction, fire, or electric
shock, etc.
