Error codes
Errors are retrieved in first-in-first-out (FIFO) order. The first error returned is the first error that was
stored. When you have read all errors from the queue, the ERROR indicator turns off. The instrument
beeps once each time an error occurs.
If more than 20 errors occur, the last error stored in the queue (the most recent error) is replaced with
the error code:
-350, "Too many errors"
No additional errors are saved until you remove errors from the queue. After you remove errors from
the queue, the instrument responds with:
+0, "No error"
The following conditions clear the error queue:

Turning off the power
•
Sending a *CLS (clear status) command
The *RST (reset) command does not clear the error queue.

-101 Invalid character
EE
An invalid character was found in the command string.
-102 Syntax error.
EE
Invalid syntax was found in the command string.
-103 Invalid separator
EE
An invalid separator was found in the command string.
-104 Data type error
EE
A parameter type error was found in the command string.
-105 GET not allowed
EE
A Group Execute Trigger (GET) is not allowed in the command string.
-108 Parameter not allowed
EE
More parameters were found than needed for the command.
-109 Missing parameter
EE
Not enough parameters were received for the command.
-112 Program mnemonic too
long
EE
A command header with too many characters was received.
-113 Undefined header
EE
An invalid command was received.
-121 Invalid character in number EE
An invalid character was found in the number specified for a parameter
value.
-123 Numeric overflow
EE
A numeric parameter with exponent larger than 32000 was found.
-124 Too many digits
EE
A numeric parameter was found whose mantissa contained more than
255 digits, excluding leading zeros.
-131 Invalid suffix
EE
A suffix was incorrectly specified for a numeric parameter.
-138 Suffix not allowed
EE
A suffix was received following a numeric parameter which does not
accept a suffix.
-148 Character not allowed
EE
A discrete parameter was received but a character string or a numeric
parameter was expected.
-151 Invalid string data
EE
An invalid character string was received.
-158 String data not allowed
EE
A character string was received but not allowed for the command.
-160~-168 Block data errors
EE
Block data is not acceptable.
-170~-178 Expression errors
EE
The meter does not accept mathematical expression.
-211 Trigger ignored
EE
A Group Execute Trigger (GET) or *TRG was received but the trigger
was ignored.
