4  Mounting

Unless otherwise stated, the numbers mentioned in this chapter refer to

4.1  Notes on mounting

4.1.1  checks before mounting the brake

Before mounting the brake, check the following:

 

►

Compliance of the ordered voltage and performance data with the type plate data.

 

►

No damage to the brake or contamination by foreign particles in the area of opera-

tion or in the air gap of the brake.

 

►

A suitable second friction surface must be provided. The type of counter friction 

surface affects the torque. Avoid sharp-edged interruptions in the friction surface. If 

such a surface is not available, a flange or a friction disc (available as an accesso

-

ry) can be used.

 

►

The friction surfaces must be free from grease and oil.

 

►

Air humidity, aggressive vapours/liquids or the like may lead to corrosion and cause 

the lining to stick. In this case, the user needs to provide appropriate measures!

 

► The brake must first be de-energised when being mounted.

 

►

Readjustment of the air gap is not possible! If necessary, check the air gap before 

mounting =>
