Steps
1. Start the KaVo Device Tool for ProXam iP.
• Windows: Click the Start button and select the KaVo Device Tool for
ProXam iP.
• macOS: From the Applications, select KaVo Device Tool for ProXam
iP.
2. The unit can be searched and selected under the Unit tab.
3. The unit name (alias) can be changed under the Configuration tab.
4. An IP address can be entered manually and DHCP can be activated /
deactivated under the Configuration tab.
3.3.3.1 Entering fixed IP address (recommended)
About this task
NOTE
To reset the network settings, keep the unit reset key pressed for 15 - 20
seconds while switching on.
Follow these steps to enter a fixed IP address.
Steps
1. Deactivate DHCP when you have selected a device from the list.
2. Enter the IP address, netmask and gateway.
3. Save the configuration by selecting Save.
3.3.3.2 Testing device
About this task
You can scan in an X-ray image to check that the unit is properly connected.
Steps
1. Open Romexis.
2. Create a test patient in Romexis (for example, patient ID: DEMO0001).

3.3.4 X-ray unit settings
NOTE
If 60 kV can be set on the X-ray unit, this setting is preferred.
The standard exposure values for F-speed film (e. g. Kodak Insight) can be
used.
