Working Principle:
If a container or a pipe is filled with gas, when the internal pressure is stronger than the external
pressure, since the internal and external pressure difference is large, once the container has a leak, the
gas will be flushed out from the leak. When the size of the leak is small and the Reynolds number is high,
a turbulent flow will form. The turbulent flow will generate sound waves of a certain frequency near the
leak hole. The frequency of the sound wave vibration is related to the size of the leak hole. The leaking
sound can be heard. When the leak is small and the sound frequency is high, the human ear can't hear it,
but they can spread in the air, which is called no-load ultrasonic. Ultrasonic waves are high-frequency
short-wave signals whose intensity decays rapidly as the propagation distance increases. Ultrasound has
directivity, with this feature, the correct leak location can be determined.
Operating Method:
Receiver:
1. Connect the headphones to the earphone jack of the leak detector and bring the headphones.
2. Press and hold the "TEST" button. At this time, the "POWER" indicator lights up, indicating that the
power is on. Adjust the gain adjustment knob to the desired position.
3. While holding down the ‘’TEST’’ button, slowly move the probe of the leak detector along the area to
be tested to detect leaks or gaps. When there is no leakage, the LEAK indicator does not light, and
the repeated sound is emitted from the headphones. When the leak detector detects the gap (ie, the
leak), the LEAK indicator lights up, the frequency of the sound emitted by the colleague's earphone is
accelerated, and the closer the receiver is to the gap, the faster the frequency of the earphone
sound is, the higher the tone.
4. After finding the leak, fix it according to the situation and test again to verify the repair effect.
5. When the test is complete, release the ‘’TEST’’ button to turn off the power.
