6 Functional Description
NOTICE
Danger of material damage or malfunction due to overheating!
In the case of a malfunction at temperatures above +80 ºC, the temperature switches inte-
grated into the heating panels will open the heating circuit.
►
Do not operate the antenna heating without control unit PT 100.
ESO 99 and ESO 101, each with 1 x PT 100, for ambient temperature and heating
system temperature
The control electronics switches the heating system ON if:
●
the ambient temperature is within the set range
(recommended setting: min. – 15 °C/max. +3 °C)
and if
●
the temperature of the reflector is below the set desired value (recommended setting: +20 °C)
and if
●
the light sensor has detected a snow or ice coating or if the external sensor is active.
The control electronics switches the heating OFF if:
●
one of the above indicated conditions is no longer fulfilled.
The integrated time control enables the setting of a subsequent heating period ranging from 3
minutes to 3 hours (default setting: 15 minutes). The subsequent heating period thus bridges a tem-
porary drop of the sensor signal due to, for example, temporary sun exposure or wind impact on one
of the sensors.
ESO 97 with PT 100 for ambient temperature and
ELTC-2 with PT 100 for heating system temperature
The control electronics switches the heating ON if:
●
the ambient temperature is below the set desired value (recommended setting: +3 °C)
and if
●
the temperature of the reflector is below the set desired value (recommended setting: +20 °C).
The control electronics switches the heating OFF if:
●
one of the above indicated conditions is no longer fulfilled.
