2.4. Connecting the outdoor combustion air feed pipe
The fireplace may also take in its combustion air from outdoors. For this, there is an air intake pipe
connection part (diameter 70mm) beneath the fireplace`s bottom. The fireplace`s rear wall have
removable blind via hole, which the air intake pipe can be fed into the fireplace and attached to the
furnace.
2.5. Safety distances
The given safety distances must be adhered to under all circumstances to prevent fire hazards!
The safety distances are minimum lengths to flammable material.
If the fireplace is installed on a floor that consists of flammable material, a protective plate made of
metal or equivalent fireproof material must be placed in front of it. The plate must extend 400mm in
front and at least 100mm to each side of the feed door.

Non-combustible walls, the safety distance of at least 50mm from the outer surface of the fireplace.
In this case, the sides of the non-combustible wall must continue past the hatch is at least 1000mm.
3. Usage
3.1. General instructions
Follow the instructions for use in heating and fireplace installation
The fireplace is heated only with untreated firewood.
Kastor fireplaces are meant for heating rooms. They must not be used for any other purpose
Making structural changes to the fireplace is not permitted.
Use only original equipment and parts authorised by the manufacturer.
Use the glove delivered with the fireplace when it is hot. There is a scalding hazard when handling
heated parts.
Do not close the damper plate before the embers have stopped glowing.
The fireplace's door must be closed during burning. Smoke may leak into the room, if the draught is
weak.
Although the fireplace has been heat treated, a slight amount of paint odour may emerge during the
first heating.
During the first heating, the environment should be aired.
Do not burn overly large loads. The heat output rises excessively and may damage the fireplace.
The instructions apply to leaf wood. Burning the same amount of coniferous wood causes higher
temperatures in the furnace.
If the surface of the cladding changes or the colour comes off, the fireplace has been heated too
much. If, in addition to this, the steel parts start bending, the heat output exceeds permitted levels by
far. Helo does not cover damages of this kind.
