KTES Installation and Configuration in 5 Easy Steps
Without the EntraPass software
Install the KTES
a) Unpack the KTES & validate the installation checklist.
b) Apply sealant on the back of the KTES around the mounting holes and the
knockouts (for outdoor installation).
c) Proceed with the physical mounting on the wall.
d) Connect the reader (if applicable).
e) Connect the door locking device (DC or external power source).
f) Connect the inputs (Postal lock, REX…etc).
g) Connect external Access controller (if applicable).
h) Connect the telephone line.
i) Connect the earth ground.
j) Connect the power source & the backup battery.
k) Power up the KTES.

Program the KTES
a) Press * and wait 5 seconds for the beep sound. Access the programming mode
by entering code
8888
. To change the programming code, select menu 1 then
press the LIST key. Select Master Tenant and press 4-PIN.
b) Set the Date & time of the KTES, this will be the default setting for a stand alone
configuration (Shortcuts 3-1 for the time and 3-2 for the date).
c) Set the welcome messages (Shortcut 2-1-1-1).
d) Set the KTES language, keypad and system parameters (Shortcut 8-1-2).
e) Configure the call options (Shortcut 8-1-3).
Note
: By default, * is used as Exit or Escape key. # is used as the Enter key.
Add Tenants
a) Enter the programming mode with default code
8888
or the new code defined in
the previous step.
b) Select menu 1 then press the NEW key to add a new tenant.
c) Enter tenant information (name, ID, PIN number, phone number, start and end
dates).
d) Save the configuration
Validate Configuration
a) Exit the Programming Mode.
b) Validate the programming on the KTES by scrolling in the tenant directory

Call a tenant to ensure the system is working properly.

Ask the tenant to unlock the door using the 9 key.
Inform the Tenants on How to Operate the System
a) Use the
Quick Reference Sheet
at the end of the Programming Manual to
inform the tenant on how to use the system.
¾
How a visitor can: reach a tenant, talking to a visitor, grant access, denying
access and accessing the building using a PIN.
b) Make copies of the
Quick Reference Sheet
and distribute them among the
tenants.
